Chile Relief Effort

UMCOR has established an advance special number to help with the February 2010 Chile earthquake - providing emergency relief and long-term development support for disaster-affected communities.  You can donate money for this effort through Glenwood Park or by sending your money directly to the Missouri Annual Conference.  Please not Chile Advance #3021178 in the memo line.  100% of this money goes to the relief effort.

  Haiti Relief Effort

UMCOR has established an advance

special number to accept donations to respond to this earthquake.   Go to http://tinyurl.com/umcorhaiti

to donate on-line or send checks payable to the Missouri Annual Conference with Advance Special #418325

“Haiti Emergency” noted.   The Office of Creative Ministries is working to coordinate with UMCOR regarding other supply needs, but financial assistance is the most critical at this time.

People can write checks to Glenwood Park and put Haiti Advance # 418325 in memo line and we will forward to UMCOR.  100% of donations goes to the relief effort.

Background / History

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) will be working with local communities in Chile and Haiti to rebuild. UMCOR is now better able to help when earthquakes and tsunamis or other disasters hit the area. UMCOR works in shelter and infrastructure reconstruction, water and sanitation, income generation, health and nutrition, education and community development.
